Family

A couple of miracles today...

First of all, I went to the mall with Gideon, without the stroller... and it went just beautifully. That was the first miracle. (This is what I saw when I turned around after unlocking the car door... Gideon checking out his new shades and baseball hat in the car mirror next to ours.)

And, while at the mall, I found some really good deals on clothes for Levi at Macy's. Name brand school shirts for $6.20-$14.00 (that one was his Father's Day gift). And jeans, a pair for $15 (seriously!) and another for a little more. It was a blessing and I am truly grateful! It reminded me of when Deanna told me she found 3 coats in just the right sizes for her boys on the clearance rack at Target.

And, finally, a little "thinning of the veil" moment. This is pretty personal, so scootch up a little closer.
One time when Dad was telling me what he remembered about his family being sealed in the temple, I had the distinct impression that I had been there with them. Now, I don't know how that would all work out, but it was an undeniable impression. I feel like it is probably the reason I have always had such a strong testimony of the temple and templework ("I'm wormy!").

Well, tonight while I was rocking Joseph and singing, "I Love to See the Temple," I remembered that experience. And as I remembered, I felt it again, but this time I was not alone. I felt my siblings around me.
I hope that's how it happened, because I think that's the only way it would have felt truly "right." And, come to think of it... as I reflect on Grandpa and Grandma's posterity, we were surely not the only ones there, rejoicing on that occasion. It's a reminder of the eternal significance of our decisions.

So, Dad, with your birthday and Father's Day coming up, I want you to know that I love you, and I am so grateful for your parents' legacy, and for yours. You are amazing and I am humbled to be part of your family. Thank you, forever!

Christine,
Thank you so much for sharing that! I needed to be reminded of the great blessing of being sealed as an eternal family, and the promises we receive as such. I love you!
